Sangamon County’s voices in the U.S. House of Representatives have endorsed Jack Campbell in his bid to become Sheriff.
U.S. Reps. Rodney Davis of Taylorville and Darin LaHood of Peoria announced today they are supporting Campbell’s candidacy. Campbell is a 24-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office who worked his way up from the the auxiliary police force to become the Department’s Undersheriff.
“Jack Campbell is exactly who we need to continue the commitment of excellence in the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office,” Davis said. “I am endorsing Jack because of his dedication to keeping communities safe and being responsible with taxpayer dollars – just like Sheriffs Williamson and Barr before him. With 24 years of law enforcement experience, I back Jack Campbell and I am asking voters to join me in supporting Jack Campbell for Sangamon County Sheriff.”
“Jack is ready to lead from day one,” LaHood said. “ His career in law enforcement is impressive and speaks to his abilities as a leader with a record of effective service. As a former state and federal prosecutor, I understand what it means to work with professional and effective law enforcement leaders, and that’s why I think Jack is the best choice in this election.”
“Congressmen Davis and LaHood have shown unquestionable commitment to representing their constituents in Washington, D.C.,” Campbell said. “If we are going to make Sangamon County a better place for our families, we have to have everyone working together as a team. I am honored by their confidence in my abilities and proud to call them friends.”
